Rugs for Hotels and Hospitality
A contract rug in a hotel is not looked at, it is walked on — tens of thousands of times a year. What that demands of material, construction and planning.
What is different in a contract project
Six points that decide whether a rug survives hotel operation.
Fire safety
Textile floor coverings in public areas are subject to fire requirements that depend on use and escape-route planning. We settle the required classification with your site management before the material is fixed — not afterwards.
Durability
Lobby, corridor and guest room have entirely different load profiles. We match pile density, pile height and fibre blend zone by zone rather than laying one product across the whole floor.
Cleanability
What cannot be cleaned in operation is unusable after a season. Wool with its natural lanolin content stays stain-resistant and can be maintained without closing the space.
Reorderable for years
Hotels renovate in phases. We document colourway, quality and construction so that years later a floor can be extended rather than wholly replaced.
Room acoustics
In lobbies, restaurants and corridors the rug is the most effective acoustic element that can still be introduced after the fact. Pile density and height control the effect.
Delivery during operation
Phased delivery and installation, coordinated with occupancy and closure windows. Dates are planned backwards from the reopening.

Reference
For the Hotel Seefeld in Zurich we developed a comprehensive textile interior concept. Further contract references are shared in conversation — some of our clients prefer no publication.

We work directly with owners, architects and interior designers. For tenders we supply tender texts, material data sheets and contract-scale sampling; during operation we coordinate delivery and installation with house management.
